I looked up lots of advice here on variegated thread and long backstitches and proceeded to disregard almost all of it and just have fun after finishing some monster holiday gifts.

I definitely won't use mostly light purple thread on mostly light purple Aida again but I think they'll like it and I enjoyed making it.
