I finished the octagons! I'm so glad they are done. I started this project last September as a Christmas gift but... haha. I might as well call all this year's projects as gifts for Christmas 2027. Sounds about right.

The filler granny squares will be a gradient of neutrals, with color not always in concentric rows. So I will be sewing in a lot more ends as I cut and splice the different colors together to make the squares.

My son's job includes some travel and my daughter-in-law works in a service job. So to me, the octagons represent all kinds of cities and communities, with varied customs and joys.

The filler squares will be mostly skin tone neutrals representing all the beautiful souls in this world, hand in helping hand with each other, uniting us all.

I had a limited budget and yarn source so the skin tones aren't as varied as I'd like. But I'm really pleased with this so far.
