An update on that one spiral + some opinions
| The decision was made: it's going to be a blanket! I went as far as I could with one skein of the colorful yarn (Red Heart Super Saver - Polo Stripe) and then decided to taper it out. I tapered out with hdc, sc, then sl st, but the more I look at it, the more I think I want to frog back to the slip stitches and get rid of them. I think ending on the single crochets would look much better. The flat circle is about 3ft in diameter now. My plan is to switch from the black and white yarn (Red Heart Super Saver - Zebra) to a plain black yarn for a couple more rounds and then square it out with black. From there I think I'll be at my desired width, and I'll add to two opposing sides so it's longer than it is wider. In adding length, I'm debating getting some yarn that closely matches certain shades of the Polo Stripe yarn just doing some striped rows alternating between those colors and the black. I tried getting more Polo Stripe, but the dye lots available at my local store now are wildly different from the one skein I had, and every color in the new skeins look so dull in comparison to the old one. Anyways, I'll update one more time when the whole thing's done. I've loved working on this project though and all of the feedback from everyone on here was incredible and really boosted my confidence, so thank you all for that ???????????? [link] [comments] |
