Hi all! First time poster here, 1 year stitcher.

I just purchased this awesome pattern by LinaOva on Etsy https://www.etsy.com/listing/1699573029/

I’m thinking about keeping the borders and design all one color, but adding color to the mermaid, boat and octopus. I know that samplers like this are traditionally kept all one color, and I’ve been trying to change the colors in Markup R XP to see what it looks like before i go for it, but it’s super tedious and i can’t exactly figure it out. So i have a few questions.

A. Do yall think i should even add colors??? Will it look terrible?

B. If anyone’s done this before, could you please show me your finished pieces or WIPs?

C. Anyone have any tips for what program may be easier to change the colors so i can see what it looks like? The only thing i can think of is literally remaking the entire pattern in Stitchly, or MacStitch pro (both of which i already have)
