I was an avid cross stitcher before and during the pandemic, and with so much time spent at home, I was looking for something different and with a higher skill ceiling (no shade, I still love cross stitch).

I’d done a few small projects, some scarves, a Woobles kit (lol, everyone unclench!), a beanie, etc. I went looking on Ravelry for a shawl and I saw this pattern and fell in love with it. More complicated than anything I’d attempted and in fingering weight yarn. But I threw caution to the wind and white knuckled my way through in the beginning, and I’d put it away, and take it out and have to figure out what I was doing all over again. If you studied it, you could probably see various points where I was getting better, and at least at a distance, this is an extremely forgiving pattern.

4 years, 5 states, and one divorce later, I’m thrilled it’s finished (except for weaving in the ends and blocking) :)
