i know it isn’t perfect, but it carries all the love i could put into it

it’s the first time this year that i’m far from my mother for her birthday

for as long as i can remember, our house has been scattered with moons : on one of her coats that she wore all the time, on our pillowcases, on a coffee mug, a poster in the living room, a postcard we once sent her that stayed on her desk for ages we even had matching curtains, and the motif appeared on those too i eventually started noticing, almost nervously, whenever i went to someone’s place, whether there was a moon somewhere

and it’s funny, because the motif suits her so well, she who never sleeps at night
