Additional info for more context. This will be our 4th Japanese Doll ordered through AmiAmi. All packages have always exceeded De Minimis, but have never been held for owing duty fees (my understanding is that these fall under Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) Chapter 95 for Toys and is duty free, imported from Japan), thus why we've never been held up for taxes. AmiAmi does mark country of origin as "Japan."

AmiAmi will list the 185,560 yen as the value of the package on the customs form. After conversion, it cost me $1,313.90. A 24% tax could roughly be around $315 (I say roughly as I assume they will convert from the Yen price at the time). That would be a whopping $1,640 ish purchase, which suddenly makes TOM's price look appealing.

We will keep everyone posted ???? Ordered now since I am hopeful De Minimis and HTS 95 still apply and we can import without a duty. Trying to beat De Minimis being potentially taken away. Though this may all be for naught if HTS 95 has already been flagged for a 24% duty.
