A Simple Gibson Before Turkey
| This year, I've opted to skip seeing friends and family and enjoy an extra-relaxed, football and cocktails, no-schedule approach to Thanksgiving. It's just the cat and me and it was the right call. The turkey is roasting, the pie is done, stuffing prepped, potatoes are poised for launch in the Instapot for mashing. A simple Gibson is the right call before dinner. As with all martinis, the ratios are flexible but today the two I've had are mostly gin and a sly bow in the direction of France: 3.5 oz gin a splash of dry vermouth a splash of cocktail onion brine Serve ice cold with 3 cocktail onions. I'm with Niles Crane on this one--any more or any less just doesn't work. What are you all drinking today? [link] [comments] |
