The “Blue Leilani” from Tropical Standard

“Nobody ever went broke selling blue drinks..” - Garret Richard on the episode of the Cocktail College where he breaks down his reinterpretation of this Harry Yee classic.

So refreshing, tart and pineapple forward, and the coconut washed gin and rum play really well together in this one. This really is the best version of a resort drink you’ll ever have.

  • 5 drops 20% saline solution
  • 1/2 oz strained lemon juice
  • 1.5 oz fresh pineapple juice
  • 1/2 oz lime punch syrup (lime Oleo saccharum + lime juice cordial)
  • 1 tsp rich Cane syrup (2:1)
  • 3/4 oz coconut fat washed gun
  • 3/4 oz Havana Club 3

Instructions: 1. Add all ingredients to a mixer tin (or a cocktail shaker) 2. Add a cup of crushed ice 3. Blend for 3-5 seconds (or shake 10-12) 4. Add 1/2 cup of ice to your glass and pour the drink unrestrained on top. Gate to finish. 5. Garnish with a parasol, pineapple fronds, and an orchid (if you have one).
