I nominate the above Jack Rose with Cranberry Grenadine. Love the color plus the Cranberry Grenadine has an extra tang to distract you when your uncle starts talking about the election.

1 1/2 oz Laird’s Apple Jack 3/4 oz lemon juice 1/2 oz cranberry grenadine

Add all ingredients to a cocktail tin, shake and strain and pour into a coupe. Viola.

Rather than using pomegranate for the grenadine, make with cranberry. Combine one cup of cranberries and one cup of sugar in a saucepan and cover with water and bring to a low boil. After about 15 minutes, crush any unexploded cranberries and strain into a container.
