My 1st attempt at a clarified New York Sour
| This took me 2 hours to make and it came out just as I had hoped it would. Clarifying the sour rounded out the taste and gave the drink a smoother mouthfeel. The ingredients- 1.5 ounces of bourbon .5 ounces of lemon juice .5 ounces of simple syrup .75 ounces of whole milk 1 ounce of a dry red (I used Malbec) The process- 1 combine the bourbon lemon and simple syrup in a glass to make a whiskey sour. In a separate glass add the milk 2. Slowly Add the whiskey sour to the milk and give it a stir then let it sit, covered, at room temp for 1.5 to 2 hours 3. Using a coffee filter or cheesecloth strain the concoction and separate the liquid from the solids. 4 discard the solids and add ice to the liquid. Use a bar spoon and float the wine over the cocktail. [link] [comments] |
