The Final Ward

I’m a “The Last Word” fan, but my limes have gone bad, so I decided to give this common variation a try. Honestly, an amazing cocktail. I would make this again.

THE FINAL WARD

3/4 oz. rye whiskey

3/4 oz. lemon juice

3/4 oz. maraschino liqueur

3/4 oz. Chartreuse

Shaken vigorously

Lemon peel to garnish

The Luxardo/Chartreuse combination is (in my opinion) always a winner. The rye and lemon just give this cocktail a subtly different base. One that’s familiar, but surprising. I just love anything Chartreuse related though.
