Trying a Trinidad Sour for the first time

Trying a Trinidad Sour for the first time

Made it in one of my tiny coupes, so spec was:

  • 1 oz Angostura bitters
  • 1/3 oz Mitcher’s rye
  • 1/4 oz Small Hands orgeat
  • 1/2 oz lemon juice

Shaken & strained. Lemon twist expressed and dropped in as garnish.

Definitely a change of pace! Don’t know if I love it, but it wasn’t awful.

It’s unsurprisingly quite bitter, I think a drop of saline or tiny pinch of salt might balance it out. I think I would try it again with another spirit, maybe a strongly flavored rum or mezcal.
