Salmon Skin Futomaki
I bought a whole side of Faroe Island salmon yesterday and ended up with a ton of skin leftover once I was done prepping the meat for sushi. I hate not using ingredients so I figured I’d try to make rolls with some of it. I pan fried the skin and paired it with some cucumber I needed to use. It was difficult to roll and even more difficult to eat but tasted great! I found it was a struggle to get a tight roll due to the stiffness of the skin so about half of the pieces I ended up with were borderline falling apart (these were the nicest looking pieces). Next time I might chop it up a bit finer or at least slice into very thin strips. [link] [comments] |
