Made rice porridge for the first time!
Tried my hand at making some rice porridge for breakfast this morning. It’s my first time making and eating it and I have to say I’m in love. I used some leftover soy braised chicken thighs, onion, garlic, carrot, mushrooms, green onion and eggs. I mostly followed Maangchi’s shrimp porridge (saeu-juk) recipe but used the leftover chicken instead of shrimp. My research into other porridge recipes makes me think that this version could be called either dakjuk or maybe dak yachaejuk? I’m not sure but either way it was so delicious, I’m excited to make it again and try other variations. Served it with some crushed roasted seaweed snack and homemade kimchi.
