At this point it’s been about a day and I can already smell the vanilla quite well. I’m not sure exactly how long I’m going to let it infuse, but I’m thinking I’ll do a taste test at a weekly interval.

BTW, I’m not expecting magic. I’m just seeing if I can make an $8 rum taste like a $12 rum by spending $20 :)
