Review: Blue Note Honey Rye Cask 2024

95/5 MGP Rye finished in honey barrels

117.2 proof

$64 locally

Nose: rye spice, alcohol heat from the proof, and so much springtime honey. All notes hang out separately. I'm worried about the potential overly sweet palate

Palate: SO MUCH RYE SPICE. it just punches you in the face with spicy rye, oak, some dill and mint, earthiness, and only a hint of the honey sweetness

Finish: smooth, honey sweet, and spicy, with everything marrying together extremely well. This trifecta lingers everywhere for quite some time.

I'm so impressed with this bottle. It's only the first pour from the bottle but it's definitely ready to go from the start. Value is great on it, buy it if you see it
