I used Gaianotes and Mr. Color metallic lacquers. Should I do a topcoat next? If so, piece by piece or limb by limb?

Which top coat would work best? I’ve tried researching but can’t seem to find a conclusive answer. I’ve spent days masking and painting so I really don’t want to mess this up. TIA!
