First Ever Build Attempt

First Ever Build Attempt

With the recommendation of a friend who’s into it (and helped convince me to give the hobby a shot), I completed my first Gunpla with this SD Tallgeese model. If you want a more detailed breakdown of my build process, I posted several of my steps (and mistakes) on my Twitter: https://x.com/primoman/status/1834000532064583726?s=61&t=-evUrw_TsSLoFvwPRx92QA

I followed a couple tutorial videos and always cut halfway through the plastic holdings, rather than try to do a perfect clean cut and potentially damaging the parts. I used the knife to cut off the hanging plastic at first, but later realized I could just gently twist it off with my finger and thumb.

The hardest part by far were the decals, as the instructions weren’t always clear how to apply them. I noticed the feet on the finished model lack some of the details of the pictured model. Not sure if that’s a bullshot of there are some additional parts that required extra cost.

Regardless, I’m very pleased how it turned out, and I understand the zen aspect of building these things. I’ll be working on the HG Aerial next, and am looking forward to it. I’m also thinking about future models I’ll want to purchase (mainly from other franchises like Mega Man).
