Disaster (Freedom) strikes!
| While cleaning my Freedom 2.0, whose right leg was already broken, the left leg came off too.. yeah this is gonna be hell. I've looked up the proper technique on how to repair such a case (brass, drill, cement), but I wanted to make sure I do this right since, let alone first time building, this is my first time repairing ANY kind of model kit. Materials I've ordered: 1. Pin Vise Drill (Bit sizes ranging from 0.8-3mm) 2. File set (to smooth off the joint surface since there's quite a bit of plastic sticking out) 3. Tamiya ABS Cement (Only order I'm unsure about, since the seller page shows both normal and Extra Thin Cement, do let me know about any precautions or specific quantities I should take care of with both types) 4. Safety Pin needles (Couldn't find brass pins, but I'll have another go around to see if I can come across any) Currently in both broken joints (the part connected to the torso), there is a slight cavity that's larger than the pin needle. Will this create a problem during the drilling process? And are there any other things I should keep in mind during repairs? Sorry for the text dump, I just really wanna get my guy back up on his feet again. [link] [comments] |
