Building this guy together was the last thing I got to do with my dad

He passed away on Wednesday morning after dropping into a coma about a week ago. I got him the HG RX-78 for his 83rd birthday a few months ago, when he was still cogent and before all the issues started. He had a pretty serious fall right after that, and then he just…went downhill pretty quickly. I know he didn’t want to stick around forever in a body that was failing him, but I’m glad he at least lasted long enough for me to visit again and say my goodbyes, even if he wasn’t awake or aware to hear them.

Anyways. This is all too heavy for a sub about plastic models of fictional giant robots and the people who build them, but they say a burden shared feels half as heavy, so I hope you’ll forgive me.

I really miss you.

I love you, dad.
