I primed it in black, then sprayed it in Tamiya Olive Drab (XF-62). The color was way too dark, but I proceeded anyway. I applied a satin acrylic varnish and tried pin washing with some very thinned out oil paints.

My question is: should I try to strip it and start over with clean plastic or is it ok to repaint with a lighter color (given that I’ve already used a varnish and some oil paints)? Keep in mind I did all this several months ago, so everything has been dry for quite a long time.

My plan is to also do some weathering, chips, etc. I guess I’m also wondering if too many coats of paint, varnish, etc. will start to cover the mold details.
