flat coat makes such a big difference for hand painting
![]() | i’ve always been unhappy with my hand painting, i could never quite figure out the proper ratio of paint to thinner in order to create a smooth finish. but today i found out that a matt coat really makes such a huge difference when it comes to hiding surface imperfections. the magazine as well as the black section at the front of the rifle were hand painted while the rest of the rifle was painted with a sponge. one downside is that it expectedly cuts some of the metallic shine - but this does make it feel more realistic anyway.
