| Breguet Classique 5177 blue enamel dial. This dial is unreal in person. The deepest blue you can imagine. I love that it is whimsical (numerals, hands) and still completely classy. It is not serious and stoic like so many dress watches I see, and that is part of the reason I was drawn to it. I know Breguet is known for their guillochage, but I still get some of that on the beautiful white gold rotor in the see through case back. Rolex Explorer 224270 What can I say that hasn’t already been said about the Explorer? It’s a classic. Wear it to work, wear it to the beach, wear it casually on the weekend….really no situation it doesn’t belong in. Having said that- at 40mm, I find it to be too sporty on my wrist for formal-wear. Wanted to love the 36mm version, but the bracelet taper was too much for me. Chopard Alpine Eagle 41mm This feels so luxuriously sporty with its bright lucent steel case/bracelet and with all the intricate polishing/finishing- light reflects in the coolest way with this watch. The dial texture is so cool in person and really varies with lighting. I know it is polarizing, but I find the Roman Numerals to work great in a sports watch with the way they are applied on the dial. I know my photography skills suck, but what do you think? I think it’s a super solid 3-Watch collection and I’m hoping (wishful thinking) that I won’t want to add anything else to the collection for a long long time. submitted by /u/seed3po to r/Watches [link] [comments] |
