Super impressed by Ogio Warranty after 15+ years with the same backpack

I purchased an Ogio backpack for about $50 on sale back when Ebags existed in 2008 and it was a low tier model - ogio metro bag. The lining was falling apart within a year so I filed a warranty replacement.

They sent me the Ogio Epic as replacement since they no longer had that bag in stock at the time. I have had this backpack for this entire time since probably around 2009 / 2010 since then. It is now almost the end of 2025. So roughly 15 years or so. Bag has been solid. Roomy, lots of pockets, water bottle holder, special compartments for different electronics. Has been my travel backpack this entire time, and I go traveling quite frequently.

I noticed yesterday that the stitching on one of the straps has started unraveling. Sad my bag finally is giving way as it hasn't even suffered a broken zipper on all this time of frequent usage. No joke when I say this is the first time this bag has sustained any damage.

Called Ogio on a whim since technically there's a limited lifetime warranty. I would NOT have been upset if they had said there was nothing they could do since: A) it has literally been 15+ years B) I didn't even buy this bag C) I didn't have the original replacement email anymore, just the original receipt from the original bag I bought.

They processed the claim no problem even though they said the expected lifespan of a backpack is 10-15 years and would do one more replacement as an exception and gave me a few choices - either the Ogio Renegade RSS, Ogio Gambit, or could work with their partner that now makes the Ogio Epic to get a replacement of the same bag.

I decided to try out the Gambit backpack as I'm not sure the quality of the Epic bag would be the same since they aren't making it themselves anymore. Hoping it is good!

Free shipping with provided return label Just have to send the broken backpack back within 30 days of receipt of the new one.

Sad my Epic bag has to go after 15+ years. That bag has been with me to Italy, UK, France, Japan, China, Mongolia, Mexico, Bahamas, Canada, and all around the USA.
