[Seiko] My Pogue... almost 50 years old and still going strong
| I was going through my camera roll, and after coming across this photo I realized I'd never actually shared it. This is my Seiko Pogue that I purchased last year from a private seller in the UK on Chrono24. The previous owner got it as a gift from his employer in the late 70s, wore it for a bit, then it ended up at the back of his dresser drawer. The watch was serviced by East Coast Watchmaker (highly recommended), who said it was one of the best condition examples of this model he's come across. Everything is original except the crystal (sapphire from Seikosis) and the bracelet (Uncle Seiko), which I decided to upgrade. This Pogue is certainly the most distinctive watch in my collection, and the one that receives the most comments. I enjoy this watch so much I even went so far as to purchase a spare NOS movement to ensure it can be serviced for years to come if parts ever wear out. It sometimes feels surreal, however, wearing something on my wrist that is older than me! [link] [comments] |
