[Casio F-91W] This is the only watch I feel like wearing these dayso
| This was the first watch I bought when I started collecting them 7+ years ago. Since then, I have chased and owned a couple of "grails" like a 114270 explorer, and a Sinn 556i. My current collection still includes a couple nice ones like a SARB035 and a Black Bay 54 that I bought and wore for special occasions, but watch collecting truly feels like a disease sometimes. As great as those watches are, I still can't help but nitpick them. I wish the SARB was thinner, the Tudor feels too flashy for my remote job where I wear sweatpants every day, and both are heavier then I'd like for my worn out dainty wrists that are starting to develop arthritis. I also won't go near water with either of them after my PRX got waterlogged from a quick jump in the pool when I forgot I had it on (no, the crown wasn't out). Throughout the years of owning and selling watches, this trusty F91w has honestly been the closest thing to a perfect watch for me. It checks all the stupid imaginary boxes. It has style and charm, its dimensions are perfect for my wrist size and preferences, it might as well be a G-Shock for my lifestyle because its tough as hell and I shower with it all the time. It's truly practical with its legibility, it's dim light, day/date function, and timer. It's also not a distraction on my wrist that I have to remember to charge like a smartwatch is; I've never even had to change the battery! Even wearing it to a fancy occasion with a suit is a different kind of flex. I recently had a kid and it has barely left my wrist. I even just bought a pink one for my wife who saw me using it time feedings and such and felt like it would practical be practical for her. Anyways, just wanted to show some love for this classic.
