I’m excited to share my two watch collection:

JLC Master Ultra Thin Date (Pink Gold) 39mm - I took the plunge into watches a little over a year ago with this one. I wanted something with a face that looked simple and understated. I meant to be one and done, but over time it felt too dressy for casual occasions. It also feels delicate, so I worry about wearing it at crowded bars or if there is any chance of rain. I like how most people who aren't into watches don't recognize JLC, but it's always fun when a watch fan wants to talk about it.

Rolex Oyster Perpetual (Pistachio) 36mm - I decided I wanted a metal bracelet for my second watch. I initially didn’t want a Rolex, but when I saw it in person I got tunnel vision with the classic style. I thought a colored dial would be a good contrast to the JLC. The new pastel OP colors feel timeless, but not necessarily loud or flashy. I got lucky with an AD last month through a connection and I was between beige or pistachio, but I went with my gut. It's got more weight than the JLC but it's still light and feels very durable. I can dress it up or down for most occasions.

I love both of these and I've drunk the Kool-Aid about the history of these brands. I don't ever plan on getting rid of these. This sub has taught me it's maybe naive to think I'll call it quits after 2 watches, but I'm happy with the diversity between these. I almost went with the Hermes H08 with an Orange or Green strap before I decided on the OP. If I ever get a third, right now that would be my choice.
