[AD Experience] follow up Rolex visit
| TL;DR: The store acted like a gatekeeping fortress—refusing a FedEx delivery, trying to shut the door on me, and demanding an appointment on the sidewalk before allowing me inside to pick up my own serviced watch. Once past the door gauntlet, they were fine, but the entrance behavior was absurd. Following up my prior Rolex store visit 19 days ago. Via text, I arranged to pick up my piece from service recently. I arrived at the store as FedEx was making a delivery. The doorman refused the package and told the guy nobody was available to accept delivery. The FedEx driver pointed to the several staff walking around and said I need to get a signature from you or from one of them so I can leave the package. The doorman pushed the package away and said something quietly that I couldn’t hear. Then he made eye contact with me and started pulling the door closed. I grabbed the door and told him I have business here. He held up one finger and mumbled something about a sales associate in one moment, as he pulled the door away and shut. Another employee came to the door, opened it just a minimum amount, and slithered outside to speak to me on the sidewalk. It was no “how can I help you” greeting. He went straight to “Do you have an appointment.” I told him yes I’ve arranged to pick up a service item, and I’m coming inside. He seemed taken aback. I’m pissed at this point that the sleazy fool acted like I was going to soil his store and acted to keep me at bay. The repair seems ok so far, and once inside their precious gilded lair, the staff were much more acceptable to interact with. [link] [comments] |
