[collection] My first watch
| My first real watch, and i think i'm off to a good start. I'm 56. Haven't worn a watch in over 35 years, and back then it was cheap disposable fashion watches. Got tired of pulling out my cell phone to check the time 10 times a day and decided to get a watch. Been lurking on here for about six months and finally decided on this for my starter watch. Seiko SUR553. For just $200 I got sapphire and 100m WR with an integrated bracelet-like look (not really integrated, technically but similar look which I really like) that can be dressed up or down. Some bonuses above and beyond those basic criteria include the beautiful indices which kind of have a rainbow effect in the sunlight, a really nice and comfortable bracelet, a framed date window, and a textured dial. Pretty good value for money in my opinion. For my next watch, i'm looking for a dress watch with white, off white, silver or champagne dial and a black leather strap. I REALLY like the Seiko Presage Cocktail watches, especially the off-white Martini. But i want a quartz again. Under $300 would be ideal, but can go up for the right watch. Anyone got any ideas of something that might fit the bill? [link] [comments] |
