School me on recovery equipment pt. 2
Hi all, I posted a while back inquiring about the proper ratings for recovery equipment for my new power wagon. Truck comes std with a 12k synthetic warm winch. So far I purchased: -a factor 55 tree strap rated at 18,600 in the basket config -a 1/2” x 10” factor 55 soft shackle with WLL of 12k lbs -a factor 55 class V receiver hitch -and 7/8” van beest bow shackle. Am now looking into a snatch block of some kind and having trouble understanding what I need . 1) should the block be rated to 2x the winch capacity i.e. 24k lbs? 2) if I have the above tree strap connected to a snatch block with the above soft shackle, are those two rated to handle what the snatch block can? If snatch block needs to be 24k does my soft shackle and tree strap need at least 24k WLL? Seems high for what’s typically sold Please excuse my ignorance, and thanks in advance for your responses - truly trying to learn and do it right! [link] [comments] |
