Trip around California at the end of the month - Sequoia, Death Valley, Mojave etc. How readily available is it to pick up bags of firewood as I travel around?

I’ve never travelled around the US before, I’ve done loads of travel in Africa and firewood is readily available just at the side of the road. How much ($) is reasonable for a 10-20kg (20-40lb) bag?
