Battery Question - 1996 utilimaster
![]() | Hey VanLife people, I recently acquired a van that was previously used by the California DOT as a mobile service shop for their fleet. The van has some modifications, including a large lead-acid battery that seems to be connected near the fuse box in the cab. I'm hoping someone could help me identify what’s going on here. Is this setup with the blue leads attached to the little 'pots' coming from the batter intended to be a battery isolator to prevent the main battery (which runs the starter) from being drained when the shop lights in the back are used for extended periods? You can run shop lights, swing out work lights, and yellow flashers from main batter when key is turned. This is all new to me, any help with this would be greatly appreciated as I comb through and see what it is I just bought. Thanks [link] [comments] |
