Smoked Jalapeño poppers question- thick cut or original bacon?

Found a recipe that specified “not thick cut bacon” but had zero explanation as to why I shouldn’t. I’m thinking it doesn’t crisp up as well maybe.

Has anyone ever used thick cut bacon on a stuffed jalapeño before? What were your results?

I ask because like a true genius, I impulse bought 6 lbs of thick cut bacon at Sam’s club then decided to use it on smoked stuffed jalapeños.
