I wanted to share something that’s been on my mind lately. As a truck driver, I spend long hours on the road, and when it’s finally time to rest, finding a parking spot can be a real challenge. This photo shows what I’ve been seeing more often—vans taking up spots that are designated for trucks.

I totally get that van life is all about freedom and adventure, and I respect that. But for us truckers, these spots are sometimes the only safe places where we can park and get some much-needed rest. Unlike vans, trucks don’t have the flexibility to park just anywhere. We rely on these spots, and when they’re taken, it can really throw a wrench into our day.

I’m not trying to point fingers or cause any drama. I just hope that van lifers can consider parking in the car side of truck stops or in other places that are available to them, leaving these spots open for those of us who need them to keep doing our jobs safely.
