Why is my city collapsing?
![]() | I started playing city skylines for the first time a few days ago on the base game, no dlc’s, Xbox. It was going fantastically, then out of no where my commercial started having issues with (not enough buyers), and my industry had (not enough materials) issues. As well as all that there was absolutely zero demand for any industry, commercial, or residential. I read up on how to fix these problems and it seemed like the core roots were that I had no freeways or trains in order to transport products, and the commercial simply had to many buildings, so it was creating a low demand. I then made, what seems like currently to me, a fatal mistake and paused the game and did a huge cargo rail way and freeway construction project on the city adding a railway in the middle of the screenshot that ran from downtown coast to the general industry and all the way to the ore industry. I then added an inter-city freeway that shoots right down the city, then turns to where I will expand next. I also added toll booths along the freeway, as well as on the roads leading into the industrial area. I unpaused, immediately fell into bankruptcy before eventually recovering, and then 10 minutes later my industry completely collapsed to where I have almost none left. Steadily my population started to plummet, me thinking this was due to the industrial collapse, and 30 minutes later I zoom out to see everyone dead. I need serious help. What do I do?
