Las Venturas 1920
| Above Central Ave. looking towards Las Venturas May 9 1920 “I missed the green trees and the cool river from back where we used to live. But my folks said Las Venturas was the new America, built on black gold. The town reeked of cows and horses, as well as the pungent petroleum from the Thorogood Oil Company factory about 10 miles outside of town. The hellish heat and that oppressive smell would be trapped in the valley. For relief, my pop would take us all up to Big Spring to swim, but so did everyone else in town, so it was quite crowded.” - Reginald L. Hahn reflects on childhood in 1910s & 20s Las Venturas [link] [comments] |
