Real Civil Engineer FAILED - So I Did It Instead

Real Civil Engineer FAILED - So I Did It Instead

I made an in-depth video about this as well, but if you prefer reading, here you go:

So, two days ago, the Real Civil Engineer on YouTube attempted a challenge: succeeding in Cities: Skylines without building a city (just villages). After just two months of simulation, his city went bankrupt, and he gave up.

I've built a profitable city without industry or services before, so I took on this challenge—and succeeded!

Here is my final city:

Honestly, it’s not that hard—it mainly depends on how you define a "city." I just built settlements similar in size to what he did in his video. There might be a discussion about how far apart the "villages" need to be to not count as a city, but since this setup is making a good profit, they could easily be built further apart.

Here are my finances:

It’s really just a matter of managing the budget until you hit around 3,000 population or Milestone 4 with offices—they practically print money. Services didn’t seem to be a problem for me, as they covered a good area.

Honestly, I was a bit disappointed that the "Real Civil Engineer" didn’t really try that hard and gave up after simulating for two months, which is maybe 20-30 minutes in real life. So, I decided to take on the challenge myself: https://youtu.be/PJGBLL9fGG8
