I started my first heavily planted tank in January, I’d done a few tanks with easy to grow epiphytes before this, but I’ve always been primarily a herp keeper before this tank. I have about a dozen reptiles, amphibians, and inverts in my care and have worked with hundreds of other animals including marine aquariums, and never have I had a pet as high maintenance as this aquarium! It takes up about as much time as all my other pets put together, and that includes my dog! What are your secrets to a low maintenance aquarium? My tank is cycled, but I feel my plants need so much attention to just keep them alive! Are all planted aquariums like this? How do some of y’all balance 10 tanks?
