First off, let me start by saying I’m very new to the hobby. Just started setting it up 4 days ago.

We have a betta that’s in a smaller tank and would like to give him a bigger tank.

I got the Fluval Spec V with Controsoil substrate and topped with sand.

My first attempt so please be gentle ????

Initially, I was thinking of putting the half pipe-shaped hideaway with java ferns attached to it that I got from Petco but now I’m rethinking coz I’ll have too much of java ferns.

Short of moving the entire scape to the center, what would you suggest be added to fill that empty space on the left?
