I made the tactical error of showing off my newly purchased fish children to her with the price on the bag showing. $8.99 USD each and I got a nice school of 9. She started at the fish, then at the price, back at the fish, looked right at me and said "for that price they should at least be pretty!"

To be fair they are young and mostly just silver. But still, I gotta break this generational cycle of body shaming. I will love them enough for both of us. Pic of mom's least favorite grandchild included.
