This is an incredibly long shot
| When I was a teenage (late 90s / early 00s), I "indefinitely borrowed" a bag from my mother that looked a little bit like the image here but is not the Cordoba Leather Barrel Bag pictured, this is the closest image I could find to it. The way my mom got the bag was by "indefinitely borrowing" it from her mother, so there was a lot of history with it. I set it down on a counter at a Jack-in-the-Box in Oakland, CA while on a trip visiting the campus of UC Berkley. I turned around for less than a minute to fill my cup with soda, and when I turned around, the purse was gone. I know it was made in or before the 1960s. It was a slightly lighter caramel leather color than what is pictured also. Near as I can tell, it was a barrel messenger bag with a crossbody strap. It had the same amount of compartments like the bag in the picture, two on each end with a larger one in the middle. What was nice about this one was that it also had an extra zipper along the outside so it could be compressed like an accordion and turned from a barrel bag into a small purse. The middle barrel part, because it could collapse into itself, was of a thinner quality of leather. I know the odds of me finding the exact purse are slim to none, but I'm hoping someone here knows where I might find something close to it. [link] [comments] |
