Hello fellow smashers!

Here’s some footage from my first badminton competition!

TL;DR: complete beginner! Please don’t judge too harshly ????

That being said, if you have any meaningful insights about what went well and what could’ve been better, I’d really appreciate hearing them.

Context: I’m 24 years old and have been playing without coaching for about eight months. After that, I took a couple-month break, then did about one to two months of proper coaching, followed by another month off. Yesterday was the competition.

Life’s been kinda rough lately, so unfortunately I didn’t get many practice hours in before the comp. I’m painfully aware of how bad my technique is — believe me, I’m working on it really hard right now.

Some time ago, I posted here a slow-mo, low-quality video of myself smashing in the backyard at night (thanks to everyone who replied, by the way!). Now there is some court play as well.

Mainly, I just wanted to share this experience with you all. It was scary and stressful, but I enjoyed it! Have a wonderful day!
